Webflow Forms: Setup, Spam Protection, Integrations and Limits

TABLE OF CONTENT
October 21, 2026

Webflow forms are built into every site, so you don't need a plugin to collect leads, sign-ups or quote requests. You drag in a Form Block ,add your fields, and Webflow stores each submission and emails it to you. On any paid Site plan, submissions are unlimited.

The parts most people get wrong come after the build: spam ,getting data into a CRM, and hitting a plan limit without noticing. This guide covers all of it.

Quick answer: Webflow forms in 2026

• Setup: add aForm Block in the Designer, then name the form and set notifications in its settings.

• Spam: turn on Cloudflare Turnstile bot blocking and spam filtering in Site settings >Apps & Integrations. Add reCAPTCHA v2 for high-spam forms.

• Integrations: use Webflow Apps like HubSpot, Zapier or Make, or a webhook for anything custom.

• Limits: Starter allows 50 submissions in total. Paid plans are unlimited. File uploads need Premium, with a 10 MB limit per file.

How to set up a Webflow form

A basic contact form takes about ten minutes. Here's the process we follow on every client site.

1. Add a Form Block. Open the Add panel (A), find Forms, and drag a Form Block onto the page. It comes with a name field, an email field, a submit button, and success and error messages.

2. Add the fields you need. Webflow includes text input, text area, select (dropdown),checkbox, radio button, file upload and reCAPTCHA elements. Keep it short: every extra field lowers the number of people who finish the form.

3. Give every field a clear name. The field name becomes the column header in your submissions and the key sent to integrations. "Company size" is useful; "Field 3" isn't.

4. Mark requiredfields and set input types. Use the Email type for email fields and Tel for phone numbers. Browsers then check the format and show the right keyboard on mobile.

5. Add labels toevery field. Placeholder text alone disappears when people type, and screen readers need a real label.

6. Name the form. Select the Form element and change its name in the Settings panel. Otherwise every form on the site is called "Email Form" and all their submissions land in one table.

7. Publish and test. Forms only work on the published site. Submit a test entry, then check it in Site settings > Forms and in your inbox.

Notifications, success messages and redirects

Email notifications

By default, Webflow emails each submission to the account owner. To change that, select the form, open the Settings panel, and click Email Notifications under Send to. You can set:

• To: one or more addresses. Leave it empty to turn notifications off.

• Reply to : use field variables like {{Name}}<{{Email}}>, so hitting Reply in your inbox answers the person who filled in the form.

• Subject and body: variables such as {{form Name}}and {{form Data}}let you build a readable email.

You can also set site-wide defaults in Site settings >Forms and reset any form back to them.

Two deliverability tips. Notifications come from Webflow's no-reply address, so add it to your contacts or allow-list to keep them out of spam. And send to a named inbox (jane@yourcompany.com) rather than a role address (info@); Webflow notes that role addresses are more often filtered.

On the free Starter plan, notifications go to at most five recipients, and all of them must be Workspace members.

Success and error states

Every Form Block has a built-in success message and error message. Select the form and switch between the Normal, Success and Error states in the Settings panel to design each one. Write a success message that says what happens next, for example "Thanks, we'll reply within one working day."

Redirect to a thank-you page

In the form settings, add a Redirect URL to send people to a separate page after they submit. A thank-you page makes it easy to track conversions in GA4 or Google Ads. Set that page to no index and keep it out of your sitemap.

How to stop spam on Webflow forms

The best setup for most sites is Turnstile bot blocking plus spam filtering, both built into Webflow and invisible to real visitors. Add reCAPTCHA only on forms that still get spam after that.

‍

Method What It Does Where to Turn It On Visitor Friction
Bot Blocking (Cloudflare Turnstile) Checks browser signals and blocks bot submissions on every form Site settings > Apps & Integrations > Cloudflare Turnstile spam protection None
Spam Filtering Scans submitted text and filters out spam on every form Same section, “Spam filtering” toggle None
reCAPTCHA v2 Displays an “I'm not a robot” checkbox, sometimes with an image test Add keys in Site settings > Apps & Integrations, then add the reCAPTCHA element to each form Medium
Honeypot Field Uses a hidden field that bots fill in but people don't A hidden field plus a little custom code None

Step 1: Turn on bot blocking and spam filtering

Go to Site settings> Apps & Integrations, find Cloudflare Turnstile spam protection, turn on both toggles and publish. Webflow disables the submit button while the check loads, so style the button's Disabled state (or show "Loading…") so visitors don't think the form is broken.

Step 2: Add reCAPTCHA if spam continues

Webflow's built-in reCAPTCHA works only with reCAPTCHA v2 checkbox keys. v3 keys give an "Invalid site key" error.

1. Register your domains in the Google reCAPTCHA admin console as v2 "I'm not a robot" and copy both keys.

2. In Webflow, paste them into Site settings > Apps& Integrations > reCAPTCHA validation, and turn validation on.

3. Add the reCAPTCHA element to every form on the site, above the submit button. Once validation is on, a form without the element won't submit.

4. Publish and test on the live site; the checkbox doesn't show in the Designer.

We cover the details in our guide to reCAPTCHA in Webflow.

Step 3: Small changes that cut spam further

• Add a honeypot field on high-spam forms. It's invisible to visitors and catches simple bots that slip through.

• Filter in your integration. In Zapier or Make, drop submissions that contain links or come from known spam domains before they reach your CRM.

• Remove old forms. Unused forms on forgotten pages still collect spam.

Webflow form integrations

Webflow stores submissions, but most teams want them in a CRM, a spreadsheet or Slack too. There are four ways to get them there.

Method Best For Code Needed Cost
Webflow Apps (HubSpot, Mailchimp, and Others) Sending leads straight to a CRM or email list No Free app; the tool's own plan
Zapier or Make Google Sheets, Slack, Airtable, and multi-step workflows No Free tiers, then paid by usage
Webhooks Your own backend, n8n, or a custom CRM Some Free in Webflow
Custom Form Action Posting straight to another service's endpoint Some Free, but Webflow stops storing and emailing submissions

Webflow Apps

Apps from the Webflow Marketplace connect forms to tools like HubSpot without code. Install the app, connect your account, and map form fields to CRM properties. This is the cleanest option when your tool has a Webflow app.

Zapier and Make

Both tools listen for new Webflow form submissions and pass them on. A typical workflow: new submission → add a row to Google Sheets → post to a Slack channel → create a deal in your CRM. We have step-by-step guides for sending Webflow forms to Google Sheets with Zapier and for connecting Webflow forms with Make.

Webhooks

In Site settings > Apps & Integrations, add a webhook with the Form submission trigger and a URL. Webflow then sends each submission as JSON the moment it arrives. This suits developers and tools like n8n.

Custom form action (use with care)

You can set a form's Action to another service's URL. Webflow then stops processing the form: no stored submissions and no notification emails. Use an App, Zapier or a webhook instead unless the receiving service needs a direct post.

Need something more involved, like routing leads by country or syncing with Salesforce? That's the kind of Webflow integration work we build for clients.

Webflow form limits by plan

For most sites the only limit that matters is the50-submission cap on the free plan. File uploads are the second thing to check.

Limit Starter (Free) Basic ($15/mo) Premium ($25/mo)
Form Submissions 50 in total, never resets Unlimited Unlimited
Notification Recipients Up to 5 Workspace members No limit No limit
File Upload Field No No Yes, up to 10 MB per file
Custom Domain No (webflow.io only) Yes Yes

Prices billed yearly. See our Webflow pricing guide for the full plan breakdown.

The Starter cap catches people out. Once a free site reaches 50 submissions, Webflow stops collecting new ones, and the count never resets. Put a paid Site plan on any site that takes real leads.

File upload storage is free up to 10 GB, then $0.50 per GB a month, with a hard cap of 100 GB. After that, forms stop collecting submissions until you delete old ones. Deleting a submission also deletes its files, so save anything important elsewhere first.

Exported sites lose forms. If you export your code and host it elsewhere, Webflow no longer processes the forms. You'd need a third-party form service.

Common Webflow form problems and fixes

Problem Likely Cause Fix
Form Shows the Error Message on Submit reCAPTCHA validation is enabled, but this form has no reCAPTCHA element Add the element to every form, or turn validation off
“Invalid Site Key” in the reCAPTCHA Box v3 keys are being used, or the live domain isn't registered in Google Create v2 checkbox keys and add every domain, including www
Submit Button Stays Greyed Out Turnstile bot protection is still loading or is blocked Check the published site, not the Designer; ensure no script or consent tool blocks Cloudflare
Submissions Saved but No Email Arrives Notifications are going to spam, or the To field is empty Check spam, allow-list Webflow's sender, and check the form's Email Notifications settings
All Forms' Data in One Table Forms are still using the default name “Email Form” Give each form a unique name
Submissions Stopped on a New Site The 50-submission Starter cap was reached Add a paid Site plan
Zapier or HubSpot Gets No Data A custom form Action URL is set Remove the custom action so Webflow processes the form
Form Works in Preview but Not Live Forms only process on the published site Publish, then test on the live URL

Webflow forms FAQ

Where do I see Webflow form submissions?

Go to Site settings > Forms. Each named form has its own table of submissions, and you can export everything to CSV with Export all.

How many form submissions does Webflow allow?

The free Starter plan allows 50 submissions in total, and the count never resets. Every paid Site plan allows unlimited submissions.

Does Webflow have built-in spam protection?

Yes. Webflow offers Cloudflare Turnstile bot blocking and spam filtering, both turned on in Site settings > Apps & Integrations. You can add reCAPTCHA v2 and honeypot fields on top.

Does Webflow support reCAPTCHA v3?

Not natively. Webflow's built-in reCAPTCHA accepts only v2"I'm not a robot" checkbox keys. v3 needs custom code and your own server-side check.

Can Webflow forms accept file uploads?

Yes, on the Premium Site plan and above. Each file can be upto 10 MB, and uploads appear as links in your submissions.

Can I send Webflow form submissions to HubSpot or Google Sheets?

Yes. Use the HubSpot app from the Webflow Marketplace for HubSpot, and Zapier or Make for Google Sheets. Developers can use a form-submission webhook instead.

Why am I not getting Webflow form notification emails?

Usually they're in your spam folder, or the form's To field is empty. A custom form action URL also stops Webflow from sending notifications.
